SOLD — Seiko 6105 Captain Willard

Category:

Description

For your consideration is an April 1974 6105-8119 diver. Otherwise known as the “Captain Willard”. Perhaps the most highly sought after Seiko diver’s watch. All components are completely original to the watch. The crystal is replacement Type II Hardlex from Klein and a new vintage Speidel “flat vent” is included with the sale. I will also include the original crystal, the replaced upper mainspring bushing, the crown and case seals that were replaced. The dial and hands on this watch are in pristine condition and the watch went through its entire life without service.

Condition

The watch is completely original unto itself and I would rate the cosmetic condition as excellent. The case has the original surface brushing on the upper surface and has not been polished; retaining all of its original case lines with minor wear commensurate with the age. The dial and hands are in pristine condition and retain their original luminous material. The dial and case back dates are separated by one month (see photos).

Service and Warranty

This watch has received a full service. That process includes a full cleaning and evaluation of all movement components and proper lubrication. The crown was mechanically rebuilt to replace the o-ring gasket.  Lubricants used were Moebius synthetic varieties appropriate for this watch movement type. The movement has two custom produced, American made jewels in the ports of the barrel arbor. The amplitude of the balance wheel is 230-240 range and the rate is (+/-) 2 sec/day. The case back and crown all have new, and factory correct seals. This watch comes with a 100% money back promise of originality and a 1-year limited warranty on the movement from the time of sale.
