1965 Benrus SuperCompressor

Description

This watch retains its original beautiful golden ETA 2472 movement, cross-hatched crowns, dial, hands and all other components. The case is unpolished with razor sharp edges on the body and lugs. There is wear on the watch, but it’s very honest use, but not abuse. There is a dent on the 2 o’clock crown, but that doesn’t impact functionality. The internal rotating bezel works perfectly and the lume is original on the top 60 minute triangle. A little history of this model is that the case design was Patented in 1956 by Ervin Piquerez SA (EPSA), the Super Compressor case possessed a unique sealing system that made these models unique from other designs of the time. There were many other brands that used this case style for their dive watches. The lume is very creamy and the dial is very clean. I love this particular Super Compressor because of the amazing Cathedral style hands. I believe these were re-lumed at some point in history. The watch comes on a period SUB TROPIC band that is still somewhat pliable and could be worn as is. The band keeper on the buckle side has been repaired in the past as well as shown in the images. When I wore this watch, I used another band to preserve this one.
