Description
For your consideration is a November 1965 6601-7991 SilverWave no-Date Sport Diver. It is very rare that these come available and they often have succumb to water damage. The crystal is an NOS seiko component and the bracelet is a beads of rice from the era. I cannot confirm that this is the original bracelet to the watch, but it is of the period.
Condition
The watch is completely original unto itself and I would rate the cosmetic condition as excellent. The case is in extremely good, unpolished condition with minor wear commensurate with the age. The dial has patina’d to a beautiful rainbow/purple hue and is stunning. The hands are in extremely nice condition. The lume looks correct and does not glow, but I am not certain that it is original. I have no reason to think it is not. The dial and case back dates are separated by one month. The bracelet is short and would fit a small-ish (6.5-7.0 in) wrist without any need for extension, but it will need to be extended for larger wrists.
Service and Warranty
This watch has received a full service. That process includes a full cleaning and evaluation of all movement components and proper lubrication. It also means that the crown has been mechanically rebuilt and is now capable of keeping moisture out. Lubricants used were Moebius synthetic varieties appropriate for this watch movement type. The movement has two custom produced, American made jewels in the ports of the barrel arbor. The amplitude of the balance wheel is 230-240 range and the rate is (+/-) 2 sec/day. The case back and crown all have new, and factory correct seals. This watch comes with a 100% money back promise of originality and a 1-year limited warranty on the movement from the time of sale.
