For your consideration is a June 1966 6217-8001 — Seiko’s first professional diver. Otherwise known as the “62Mas”. Perhaps the ultimate Seiko diver’s watch. All components are completely original to the watch. The crystal is an original high dome perspex, but has minor checking. This is a highly desirable dolphin back case back and it comes on an Uncle Straps 19mm Tropic.
This is an opportunity that should not be missed. It is unlikely that you will find another 62Mas in this condition with a full service and properly seals crown and stem.
The watch is completely original unto itself and I would rate the cosmetic condition as extremely good. The case has the original surface azimuthal lines on the upper surface and has not been polished; retaining all of its original case lines with very minor aging. The dial and hands are in very good condition and retain their original luminous material and high polish on the markers.
Service and Warranty
I serviced this watch on 02/28/2022. That process includes a full cleaning and evaluation of all movement components and proper lubrication. Lubricants used were Moebius synthetic varieties appropriate for this watch movement type. The movement has two custom produced, American made jewels in the ports of the barrel arbor. The amplitude of the balance wheel is 260-270 range and the rate is (+/-) 2 sec/day. The case back and crown all have new, and factory correct seals. The crown was mechanically rebuilt to replace the gasket. This watch comes with a 100% money back promise of originality and a 1-year limited warranty on the movement from the time of sale.
