Description
For your consideration is a March 1967 6217-8001 — Seiko’s first professional diver. Otherwise known as the “62Mas”. Perhaps the ultimate Seiko diver’s watch. The crystal is an original high dome perspex, but has minor checking and some time earned wear. This is a highly desirable dolphin back case back and it comes on an Uncle Straps 19mm Tropic.
This is an opportunity that should not be missed. It is unlikely that you will find another 62Mas in this condition with a full service and properly seals crown and stem.
Condition
I would rate the cosmetic condition as very good. The case has the original surface azimuthal lines on the upper surface and has not been polished; retaining all of its original case lines with very minor aging. The dial and hands are in good condition and retain their original luminous material and most of the high polish on the markers. The case back and dial are one month apart (73 case, 72 dial). I have added my VintageGlow lume to the pip.
Service and Warranty
This watch has received a full service which includes a full cleaning and evaluation of all movement components and proper lubrication. Lubricants used were Moebius synthetic varieties appropriate for this watch movement type. The case back and crown all have new, and factory correct seals. The crown was mechanically rebuilt to replace the gasket. This watch comes with a 100% money back promise of originality and a 1-year limited warranty on the movement from the time of sale.
