Description
For your consideration is a September 1968 6106-8100 “Proof-Proof” Sport Diver Automatic Wristwatch. A very desirable and very early watch that has a rare seven digit serial number. It has recently been discovered that these watches were also issued to the Vietnam era MACV-SOG. You can read the article at DC Vintage.
The dial is the beautiful blue color with very minor surface imperfections. Markers are reflective and the lume on the dial and hands were restored with my vintage lume. Crystal is a NOS Seiko flat top perspex replacement with the proper silver tension ring. The case has not been polished, only cleaned with non-abrasive polish. The caseback a very minor tool marks. Again, this is a very hard to find 7-digit serial number from very early in the production run. The ghosted bezel really is amazing in person. A wonderful white patination that maintains the legibility of the numbers.
