Description

For your consideration is a July 1968 6106-8100 “Proof-Proof” Sport Diver Automatic Wristwatch. A very desirable and very early watch that has a rare seven digit serial number. It has recently been discovered that these watches were also issued to the Vietnam era MACV-SOG. You can read the article at DC Vintage.

The dial is the beautiful anthracite grey color with very minor surface imperfections that are not visible without high magnification. Markers are frosted and some of the lume on the dial and hands were restored with my vintage lume. However, 75-80% of the original lume remains intact. Crystal is a NOS Seiko flat top perspex replacement with the proper silver tension ring. Everything is 100% original to this watch. The case has not been polished, only cleaned with non-abrasive polish. The caseback has some tool marks, but they do not alter the function or obscure the numerical serial number or text. Again, this is a very hard to find 7-digit serial number from very early in the production run.
